Rainy Day Ramblings

It's a very rainy day in North Carolina today so it's a perfect day to just post a few odds and ends here in my little blog corner.

I went to Hobby Lobby yesterday afternoon and hit up their 80% off aisle and found lots of great "junk" that I have high hopes for.  If you stay tuned you will see the finished products soon I'm sure.  I have big ideas, now I just have to find the time.  Here are my treasures:

A black and white polka dot ribbon and a cheapie basket and it's the perfect holder
for "girly" things in the bathroom.  Polka dots make everything look better, don't you think?

Do you use your auto setting on your camera for all of your shots?  If you said "yes" then you should run over to Kristen Duke's site and grab this book.  It is $10.00 and you get a file download emailed to you so you can print it out.  She has the pages sized to a 4x6 so you can just send them to the photo lab or print them yourself like I did.  Then it's small enough to stick in your camera bag as a reference.  I like how she keeps it super simple and easy to understand because I'm a total novice and I don't want fancy descriptions and tutorials--just simple and sweet.  I think you will like the book.

GroopDealz had chalkboard labels as a "deal of the day" not too long ago so I ordered a couple sets.  I just got them in the mail yesterday and was excited to use them.  I added them to a few canisters to show you.

All I had in the house was sidewalk chalk so it was a little awkward to use such a big piece of chalk on a small label--it's worth purchasing a box of white chalk.  Despite the jumbo chalk I used they still are cute!
