Fun Friday Finds

I am an avid reader...I try to finish at least one book a week.  I also love baking and all things "pretty" so when I found a book that mixed all my interests into it I knew I had to read it.  I really enjoyed all the baking tips that were included in the book, not to mention all the wonderful cupcake recipes, oh and the story was inspirational too. You really should check out "The Icing On The Cupcake" by Jennifer Ross.  That brings me to Fun Friday Finds...It's all about CUPCAKES!

Baked Ziti

There are so many ways to make Baked Ziti.  There is a restaurant that we go to that I think has the best ziti I've ever had and I always try to mimic it at home and I've gotten pretty close by using a variety of seasonings and ricotta cheese.  Yummy!

Boil one box of rigatoni noodles
Add ricotta cheese (as much or as little as you'd like)
Add 1 to 1 1/2 jars of tomato sauce.  I usually use Ragu Traditional
and about 1/2 a jar of Ragu Mushroom
Mix all together until creamy.
This is when I add my spices: Chopped Garlic or Garlic Powder,
Italian seasoning, salt, basil, etc.  Any spice you'd like to add in.  Just don't
add too much that it overpowers the ziti.
Now, add mozzerella cheese--yummy.  Add as much as you and your
family like.  We like alot of gooey cheese so I add most of a 2 cup bag and then add
some Parmesean Cheese (fresh or powdered)
Put in a casserole that is oven safe
Top with the remaining cheese from your 2 cup bag
Bake on 350 for about 30 minutes until warm and bubbly.

The best part about Ziti is that you can add anything to it and it only makes it better.  I love veggies in it but my husband and son prefer it plain or with ground beef or ground sausage.  I am not much of a meat eater so it works out for us to just do a cheesy ziti.

Leave a comment and tell me how do you make it?

Holiday Invitations

It feels so funny to be doing holiday cards and invitations when we haven't had Thanksgiving yet.  The fact is that the Holiday Season is coming quick and people want a good selection of Holiday cards and invitations.  I will have more to come but this is the first round of Hoilday Invitations.

Superhero Thank You Notes

Yesterday I showed you the image I had purchased for a superhero that was to look a little like my son...today I'm showing you what I did with it.  My son had thank you notes to write for some special Halloween Treats that family and friends gave him so we did "Fill In" thank you notes to make it easy.  I prefer a full written note but after an evening of homework it was better to keep it simple and sweet.

Let me know if you need Thank You notes for yourself or your kids!

Build Your Own Superhero

My son is Supehero obsessed so when I came across Crafty Clip's Etsy Shop I knew he'd go crazy when he saw that he could "Build" his superhero.  Monique, from Crafty Clip, was great and I had my image within a few hours of my purchase.  It turned out Great
It's Super Marcus!

My Harry Potter

This year for Halloween my son went as Harry Potter.  It is his new obsession and as it turned out we were pleased with how the costume came together.
