. . . Paint Chip Bookmarks . . .

One of the easiests things to create with paint chips is bookmarks.  I wanted to put a unique spin on them if I was going to make some so I went scouring the paint section at Lowe's and Wal Mart and found that Valspar has large sized paint chips with squares cut out of them.  I grabbed a bunch and came home and scored them right down the middle to make a fold and then glued another paint chip inside so a coordinating color would show through the squares.  If I had been at home and not vacationing while making these I would have used an eyelet or grommet to cover the hole and Bakers' Twine for the tassle but I was still very happy with how they turned out.  They were super easy to make and there is a lot of potentional to make them even cuter.  I want to do stamps in the "windows" or a monogram or little flower stickers or rub ons.  There are so many possibilities.

*I didn't have any books with me because I use a Kindle so luckily there
were some old books at the beach that I could use as a prop.

• Gather supplies--lots of paint chips, glue, a hole punch, yarn or twine, scissors
• Score your Valspar paint chip in half
• Glue the inside of your chip so you can adhere the coordinating chip
• Place the coordinating color inside the paint chip so it can peak out the "windows" on the larger chip

• Fold your paint chip in half making sure the chip is well glued on the edges. I used Mod Podge glue for the inside because it's what i had with me
• Punch a hole in the top center of the paint chip so you can string your yarn through to creat a tassle
• Thread the yarn through to make a slip knot and you have a perfect bookmark
• I love all the colors!

The perfect gift or the perfect way to embellish a package.
